This letter is addressed to Bella, a nickname for Deborah Weston.

Maria Weston Chapman writes: "I have written long & proper letters to the South to be handed about by Mrs. Coffin of Charleston." She talks about her brother Hervey, and calculates the cost of his cloak. She ends the letter with some details about her everyday life.
