Edition Notes

Holograph, signed.

Deborah Weston will do something about Caroline Weston "having the High School." Everything is undecided about Deborah Weston's future until she knows if John F. Emerson will have this school. According to Mr. Emerson, there won't be an examination of teachers, but Deborah does not know about this. If Caroline Weston should have the high school, "some sort of place here would be opened for me." She sends Dr. Ely's letter, to be given to Garrison to answer. Deborah comments that it would give great satisfaction "if he would blow up the Dr."
