Edition Notes

Holograph, signed.

Anne Warren Weston describes the wedding of Miss Stetson [perhaps the daughter of Caleb Stetson]. She refers to the great amount of work connected with the anti-slavery fair. She mentions a Mr. Curtis, who unpacked the box of contributions or donations from France. The Scotch contributions have greatly increased. Anne said: "This evening was Thackeray's lecture at the Melodeon." Harriet Beecher Stowe visited the anti-slavery fair. Rev. Samuel May, Jr., had a bad fall. She gives family news. "Abby Osgood as was bought the 2 bailey's (?)." Warren Weston is doing very well.
