Edition Notes
Holograph, signed.
The signature on this letter is uncertain, perhaps Emma C. Willard. Although Emma C. Willard was unable to help Maria Weston Chapman with the annual anti-slavery fair "precisely because hope seemed dead in the few true hearts around me," she is now asking for help toward their local fair to be held in connection with the convention on June 25-26. Willard asks if the ladies of the Boston society would come and sell articles which were left unsold. If none of the friends have leisure for this, the articles may be sent with prices.
On verso, the delivery address is: Mrs. Maria W. Chapman, Boston, Mass.
