Edition Notes

Holograph, signed.

Hannah M. Bevan wishes it to be understood that "our contribution is in aid of (indeed a part of) that of the Glasgow female anti-slavery society's." In one of the boxes there is a parcel for Wendell Phillips from Elizabeth Pease, which contains autographs of Thomas Clarkson. Hannah M. Bevan encloses bookmarks made by her own little boy, "who wished to do something to help the poor slaves." Esther Sturge sent 5 pounds.
