Edition Notes
Holograph, signed.
Mrs. Mary Welsh expresses thanks for the letters she received from Mrs. Maria Weston Chapman respecting the receipt of a box from Glasgow and the sale of its contents. She rejoices in the progress of the cause in America and praises the firm stand of Maria W. Chapman. Mary Welsh assures Maria W. Chapman of future aid. The clerical party who opposed John A. Collins when he was here are doing and saying nothing; "the clergy have lost their anti slavery influence in Glasgow."
