Edition Notes

Holograph, signed.

Amos Farnsworth has received Maria Weston Chapman's letter requesting to advance $300 to the Boston Female Anti-Slavery Society to enable it "to make its pledge to the American Soc[iety] immediately available." Farnsworth relates the difficulty he had in trying to raise a sum to help a "pecuniarily embarassed" anti-slavery friend. Farnsworth will be in Boston soon and then will be glad to do what he can.
