Edition Notes
Holograph, signed.
Mary Weston begins this letter with family news. She says that Emma Weston went for a ride with Henry Cowing in "a civered [sic] waggon." She tells about the actions of Rev. Jonas Perkins at a meeting. Perkins did not think that emancipation of the slaves could be accomplished without bloodshed. She describes a meeting of an anti-slavery society. Mary Weston discusses Betsy White's funeral and a lecture by Charles Fitch. Ezra Weston induced a sea captain to bring Augustus Hesse home. Mary Weston is planning some visits.
