Edition Notes
Holograph, signed.
George William Benson's letter told of the tumult at the Utica convention. William Lloyd Garrison arrived in Brooklyn well and cheerful. Garrison assumed that George William Benson heard about the riot in Boston from Charles C. Burleigh and John G. Whittier. Garrison felt no fear and rested calmly in his prison cell.
Only a fragment remains of pages three and four of this letter.
