Edition Notes

Holograph.

Deborah Weston explains the postponement of her vacation; she will not be at home till the 26th. Deborah is in high favor here, and Mr. John Emerson's school is highly spoken of. She compares her own qualifications and success in disciplining pupils with those of Abby Osgood. Having given up the purchase of slave labor products, Deborah has received two pairs of linen stockings, sent from Germany, as a present from Mrs. Rodman. She describes the influenza epidemic and the confusion in the house.
