In this letter, William Lloyd Garrison introduces Thomas Davis currently of Providence, R.I., but who left Ireland as a boy. Thomas Davis knows all the leading abolitionists. There is a crisis at hand which may end in the dissolution of the Union but will also result in the downfall of the slave system. Garrison printed Charles L. Corkran's letter in the Liberator. Garrison gives his views on nonresistance in light of Christianity.
