Edition Notes
Holograph, signed.
William Lloyd Garrison contends that the debts of the Liberator ought to be liquidated. The publishers are unable to discharge their debts. The time is favorable for an increase in the number of subscribers. John Cutts Smith might help in this respect. If Isaac Knapp wants to contract for the printing of the Liberator, he should be given preference. Garrison discusses the Liberator's five-year struggle and its tenacity in comparison with other newspapers. Garrison does not like William E. Channing's book.
