Edition Notes

Holograph, signed.

Abby Osgood rejoices in the report about Mrs. Maria Weston Chapman's recovery from an illness. Osgood gives news of New Bedford people. She wishes that she was at this moment with her sisters and Deborah Weston listening to Wendell Phillips. She tells about the death of Ann Macomber. A rumor has lately engaged Abby Osgood to a Mr. Lord. Osgood comments, "You had the honor of the same report, long ago." Abby Osgood is almost constantly occupied with school affairs.
