Edition Notes

Holograph, signed.

Paulina Saxton Wright Davis tells of the sorrow of the heart caused by the death of friends, her husband, the breaking up of home, and the severing of all old ties, the entire change of life. Davis writes: "And again the cause of suffering of humanity begins to press press its claims upon me..." She finds "nothing so beautiful as truth." She expects to leave for Sing Sing next week. She mentions Charles and Gertrude Burleigh.
