Edition Notes

Holograph, signed.

William Lloyd Garrison cannot go to Syracuse until Monday because of an engagement in Cortland, Pa. Garrison has no particular desire to give an anti-slavery lecture in Syracuse because much has been heard on the subject there, but he will do so if Samuel Joseph May thinks it worth while. Garrison has given Samuel J. May's "kind message" to Marius R. Robinson and Benjamin S. Jones. Robinson was pleased with the commendation of the Anti-Slavery Bugle. The anniversary of the Ohio Anti-Slavery Society has been a "magnetic occasion." The weather is beautiful. Garrison is glad that Samuel J. May is thinking of going to Europe.
