Holograph, signed.

William Lloyd Garrison introduces the bearer of this letter, Mrs. Eliza Lee Follen, the widow of Professor Charles Follen. Charles Follen died when the steamer Lexington burned in the passage from New York to Boston. Garrison describes Mrs. Follen's background, her heroic spirit, and fine literary attainments. Mrs. Follen will go to Germany and then to Paris, where she will join Mrs. Maria Weston Chapman and Caroline Weston. Mrs. Follen will be accompanied by her son, Charles Follen, and her sister, Susan Cabot.
