Edition Notes

Holograph, signed.

James Miller M'Kim has sent the package of portraits and quotes the cost of printing, etc. He would like to hear Maria Weston Chapman's opinion on "our change of position toward the 3d party." The resolution adopted on the third party "gives, in this part of the country, unmixed & universal satisfaction," except perhaps in the case of E.M. (Edward Morris) Davis. M'Kim thinks that if Maria W. Chapman had heard the discussions at the recent meeting, she "would have been disposed to relax much if not all" of her opposition to the American Society.
