Edition Notes

Holograph, signed.

Richard Davis Webb received a large box full of books from the American Anti-Slavery Society for distribution. He has been asked to send a volume to M. L'Augel and one to M. Turgeneff (sic, correct spelling Nikolai Turgenev); he asks for Turgenev's address and the names of other possible recipients. Webb hopes that "the talk of a war between England & the U.S. will blow over."
