John Murray Forbes has sent off two parcels, one to Harriet Martineau, and the other, "incendiary tho it may be," to Wendell Phillips. Forbes writes: "If I cannot go with you & with Mr. Phillips in your opinions or feelings, believe me, I can appreciate the high aspirations which carry you both so far above my poor lower world of expediency!"
