Edition Notes

Holograph, signed with initials.

Mrs. Sarah Blake Sturgis Shaw thanks Maria Weston Chapman for the Liberty Bell. Mrs. Shaw writes: "I think the Fair here was a failure---I furnished over 100 dollars of articles, but few were sold." She asks how Maria W. Chapman feels about her country now. Mrs. Shaw gives an enthusiastic description of a recently arrived grandson. She asks if Maria W. Chapman's sisters are still in Itialy and if Lucia Weston is getting well in "dear old Rome."
