Mrs. Mary Merrick Brooks invites Maria Weston Chapman to an anti-slavery meeting in Concord. The railroad will be operating by then "and the ride from Boston to Concord will be a mere nothing." Brooks tells about a recent meeting where speeches were made for and against disunion.
