Manuscript in the hand of Arthur R. Crathorne; transcript of student notes on lectures delivered in Göttingen by Professor Hilbert.
Manuscript note on front fly-leaf: "Lectures on Mechanics by Professor Hilbert at Goettingen in 1905-6, with much use of the calculus of varations. Arthur R. Crathorne. Up to page 214 these notes are as taken during the lectures. From page 214 on, the notes are a copy of the "Ausarbeitung" in the Lesezimmer and cover the same ground as pages 138-214."
