Edition Notes
Title in oval reserve of the allegorical engraved frame, Philippe Galle's name as printer in rectangular reserve below it, 8 lines of Latin verse at foot. The 14 prints that follow comprise 7 female allegories representing the Virtues but only 6 Vices, Lust apparently being omitted (or wanting). The images incorporate the name of the Virtue or Vice represented, and have 2 lines of Latin at foot. The 14th print depicts the Last Judgment.
Binding: modern vellum. Prints have been tipped on to leaves of laid paper, measuring 26.5 x 20.5 cm. Virtues and Vices follow one another in no discernable order.
