SCNHRB copy 39088012447306 is imperfect: p. [3]-[6] are wanting, and have been replaced by two sheets of paper with contemporary ms. notes. According to bookseller Jonathan Hill, "I believe these two leaves were deliberately removed and replaced with the contemporary manuscript copy when presented by Brackenhoffer" to the recipient, Henricus Anhalt.
SCNHRB copy has three folded leaves of dedicatory text (including poetry) in a contemporary ms. hand inserted at the front of the volume. A slip of paper with old ms. annotations signed by a former owner, "Anhalt, filius Heinrici, " is inserted after the title leaf. The verso of the t.p. is inscribed, "Ex manu magnifici d[omi]ni Brackenhoffer accepi, anno 1680 ..." [appears to be signed by Anhalt, but the annotation has been partially cropped].
SCNHRB copy has bookplate: Smithsonian Institution Libraries. Purchased from the Cullman Endowment.
SCNHRB copy has a modern quarter-leather binding with marbled paper boards and vellum corners; raised bands; gilt-tooled spine; and red edges.
