Edition Notes

Boston Public Library (Rare Books Department) copy bound in heavily embossed floral Dutch gilt papers that have worn to a red hue. Mounted on the front pastedown is a small sheet, with a woodcut illustration, about the Portiuncula at the Basilica of Santa Maria degli Angeli and affixed to bottom of page 47 is a woodcut image of St. Peter. The verso of p. 47 contains a series of manuscript prayers, in Latin, that runs over onto the rear pastedown. A partially illegible ownership inscription, also in an early hand, is present at the bottom of the title page and a faded blue ink stamp is on the top of the same page. The bookplate of the Boston Public Library Paul Sabatier Franciscan Collection is on the verso of the first leaf.
