Though Tygerburning Literary Journal was published by Marick Press in Grosse Point Farms, Michigan, its real origin was the low residency MFA in poetry program at New England College in Henniker, New Hampshire. Adam Fieled graduated from this program with an MFA in 2006. Editor Jacqueline Gens had also been a director of the program, and Fieled and Gens knew each other in Henniker, which is located eighty miles outside of Boston. Most of the content of Tygerburning Issue 1 is supplied by graduates and instructors of this program. Tygerburning did a second issue, still with Jacqueline Gens as editor, and that was all.
