A Strange Household!

The position as companion-secretary to Ada Haddon, whose mansion was one of California's showpleaces, seemed made to order for Joan Lamore's needs - a position which promised tranquility and security. Even the Haddon masion somehow appeared to be a trusting house, a sanctuary. But appearances were deceptive, and Joan soon found herself involved with a strange household: Noah Haddon, the wealthy but lecherous executive sho wanted Joan to be more than a companion-secretary to his wife: Ada Haddon, whose retreats into the world of meditation hed some ghastly secret; Sally Duron, a child who needed love more than she needed the steel brace on her leg; and handsome Ben Ewing, a young law student who was working his way through school as caretaker on the Haddon estate.

Joan would find herself in mortal danger as she tried to unlock the secrets hidden behind the walls of the house of Haddon.
