Francis Jackson responds to William Lloyd Garrison's previous two letters, the first concerning a critical remark made by John Quincy Adams to Judge Bacon "respecting the abolitionists", and the second relating to Garrison's request for assistance in finding a house in Boston, as well as fund-raising matters. Jackson states that Loring suggests that the matter be pursued if the remark was made in public, while Jackson advises to let the matter alone for the present. Jackson states that he will join Oliver Johnson in searching for a suitable lodging for the Garrison's in Boston, and reports that he had received from Wendell Phillips a donation of $50 in support of "The Liberator" by Elizabeth Pease, which he was relaying to Garrison by Abby Kelly.
