An edition of [Letter to] DEAR SIR (1863)

[Letter to] DEAR SIR

The letter presents a brief history of an organization that advocates peace, called a "League of Human Brotherhood," along with two different versions of declarations and a list of people who signed each version. It then asks its recipients to state their current positions on the statement that they signed. On the bottom of the letter, the writer says the names of the people who ́retain the sentiments expressed, and apply them to the present war ́ are marked with a cross.
