An edition of [Letter to] Dr Sir (1869)

[Letter to] Dr Sir

Mahlon Sands informs Garrison that Atkinson is prepared to speak and to "put his shoulder to our work". Sands asserts his hopes that Garrison will consent to speak for them as well. Sands declares that the people have "learned to look upon [Garrison] as a leader", and beseeches Garrison to lead "us young men into this great battle for liberty, justice & philanthropy".
