In this note, Phelps lists reasons for his objection to the American Board of Commissioners for Foreign Mission, and argues for the necessity of ́a progressive, yet stable, board.́ He makes a proposal for a new missionary society, which he suggests to call, ́the Am. Evangelical Missionary Society.́
