In this letter to Amos A. Phelps, Lewis Tappan reports that Mr. Jackson declined the office of President. Mentioning his plan to visit Boston, Tappan asks if he can do anything for Phelps there. He says the means will be provided if Phelps desire to go to the ́W. G.́
