In this letter to Amos A. Phelps, Lewis Tappan discusses Mr. Binghaḿs letter, and asks Phelpśs opinion about how to reply to him. He then mentions the recommendation of the Executive Committee of the American and Foreign Anti-Slavery Society on a Fast Day, and requests that Phelps have it printed on a Boston paper. He also talks about an abusive letters sent to him by Torrey, who is convinced by John Mason [?] that he could get a pardon if he can raise some money.
