Binding: mottled sheepskin. Spines gilt tooled, with title and vol. no. on two labels. Edges of boards gilt rolled. Page edges red. Green silk place markers. Vol. 20 in mottled calfskin. MS annotations on endpapers of v. 1, including pagination and plate counts for all vols. on recto of frontispiece.
Ownership inscription on t.p. of v. 10 of Gressent, senator of Rouen; cf. Jean Louis Aimé Gressent, 1746-1815, jurist (N. Oursel, Nouvelle biographie normande). The defaced 18th-century bookplates that appear in v. 1-19 are apparently his. Vol. 20 has later bookplate of de Fortia.
