My wife and I are tired of the intellectually shallow, defeatist, collectivist chatter our kids are subjected to every day. As an alternative, we think libertarianism is pretty approachable if explained correctly. It’s fair. It’s radical. It’s even cool. It's definitely fresh brain-food for young minds today.

...Your parents are pro-liberty and anti-tyranny. We believe that, in their hearts, most people are like us, but they are mesmerized by the concept of a “common good” and anxious for quick, feel-good solutions. They actually think that there are instances when good-intentions should trump individual freedom and autonomy. Limiting choice – in order to force an approved behavior or outcome – is reasonable to people with this collectivist mind-set. Their tools are rules, regulations, laws and penalties, and they use them to force people to align with their point-of-view. They think they are “doing good,” but they’re not. They are installing an elite class of bureaucratic overlord. Incremental tyranny...

This paragraph describes the differences between our thinking and that of many of our liberal friends. We all want a society that is good and fair, but have opposing views on how we get there. It's the collectivist mindset vs.those protecting individual freedom.
