This is a condensation of two Japanese guide books for the Family Computer {Famicom} game "Dragon Quest IV". This game was later released in the rest of the word as "Dragon Warrior IV", on the Nintendo Entertainnment System {NES}. The original books for the Famicom version were; "Dragon Quest IV: Official Guide Book, First Volume: World Edition" ISBN: 4900527378, and "Dragon Quest IV: Official Guide Book, Final Volume: Knowledge Edition" ISBN: 4900527386. However without the illustrations. It features color screenshots, maps of each area, and lists of what items are in each location, and where various paths lead. It has tips on beating enemies, as well as highlighting the side characters in the "Gossip" sections, and stats of weapons, and enemies. It was originaly sold for $9.95 in the USA, and $12.95 in Canada. A advertisement for the guide was featured in the instruction booklet, bt it was listed for $10.95, but the eventual release price was lower.
