Except for the change in imprint, the engraved t.p. is that of the 1557 ed. (see Mortimer, R. Italian 16th cent., 532). The plates have the added Roman numbering of the 1557 2nd state. The engraving has been reworked, at times extensively.
Library's copy consists of t.p. and plates only.
The plates in Library's copy frequently depart from numerical order. There is no plate numbered XI, but an unnumbered plate that corresponds to no. XI in Library's copy of the 1557 ed. appears between nos. XXVIII and XXIX. Similarly while there are no plates numbered XLI or XLVI, there are 2 unnumbered plates bound between nos. III and V and nos. XXII and XXIV, but these do not appear in the 1557 ed.
