Rev. reprint of the work published in 1835, which was itself a rev. reprint of a work originally published in 4 pts. between Oct. 1832 and Oct. 1833. This ed. is identical to the 1835 ed. with the following exceptions: p. [i]-viii consists of the rev. version issued in some of the copies of the 1835 ed.; the section entitled "The following terms are adopted for the American Tertiary formations" (p. 36) is revised; and the accusation of plagiarism against Mr. Lea (on p. 36 of the 1835 ed.) has been expunged.
