Vol. I contains preface and 'Elenco' of 96 portraits. These prelims. are repeated in vol. II together with a new preface and list of 'Signori Associati'. The collection was to consist of about 150 portraits (see second preface)

With lives by B. Gamba, A. Zendrini, and F. Negri.

This copy has all those in the 'Elenco' except Ricci Zannoni--78 in vol. I and 11 in vol. II--and there are 18 unlisted portraits in vol. I and 37 in vol. II. A brief life appears on the recto of the leaf facing each portrait.
