Consists of the report of the Committee of Visitors (J.V.B. Johnstone, chairman), report of commissioners in lunacy (J.W. Mylne, J.R. Hume), second annual report of the medical superintendent (Samuel Hill), financial statements (John Roberts, clerk of the asylum) and a dietary table.

The asylum is also referred to as the 'Lunatic Asylum for the North and East Ridings of Yorkshire', 'North and East Ridings Lunatic Asylum', the 'Asylum of the North and East Ridings of Yorkshire', the 'North and East Ridings of Yorkshire Pauper Lunatic Asylum' and the 'North and East Ridings of Yorkshire County Lunatic Asylum'.
