Women's Participation in Mexican Political Life is a collection of fifteen original essays that draws together the expertise of well-known Mexicanist, Latin Americanist, and gender scholars from Mexico, the United States, and Europe. The essays analyze the participation of women in different arenas of Mexico's political life: in elected and appointed positions, as feminists and grassroots leaders, as members of rebel groups and nongovernmental organizations, and so on.
The collective analysis is balanced along ideological positions and areas of activity and includes a strong section on women's involvement in politics worldwide and in Latin America.
