"The twenty-six cards in this package are a sampling from the nearly 50,000 paper cards we collected from the old library catalogues, and used to surface three levels of the principle diagonal wall within the San Francisco Main Library building. Each card is annotated with a quote from its corresponding book or from another book associated with the title by subject matter. Nearly 200 individuals annotated the cards in more than a dozen languages."--Inside cover.
