Curated by Denise Mattar and Gustavo Beai, the exhibition reveals 36 ceramics and eight large tapestries, works by Iberê Camargo that have not been exhibited for about 40 years and are part of public and private collections in Lisbon, Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo and Porto Alegre. Included in the exhibition are painted cartoons and prints in a timeline in reference to the feminine partnership that supported the painter's work throughout his life. During the 1960's and 1980's, in addition to his intense production in painting, drawing and graphic art, Iberê Camargo carried out works in ceramics and tapestry: a response to the demand of the modernist utopia concept of a close collaboration between art, architecture and craftwork. In the 1960's with the collaboration of ceramists Luiza Prado and Marianita Linck, Camargo produced porcelain paintings. The next two decades he created painted cartons that were transformed into tapestries by Maria Angela Magalhães, in an artistic partnership that lasted until the late 1980s.
