Prose version of a rhymed chronicle by Gautier de Tournai or by Gautier de Tournai and Gautier le Cordier. Attributed by the editor to the author of the Livre des faits du bon chevalier Messire Jacques de Lalaing, which has been variously ascribed to Georges Chastellain, to Jean Le Fèvre, seigneur de Saint-Remy, to Antoine de Sale, and to the herald Charolais. According to Doutrepont and Rudnitzki, the prose Gilles de Chin, Gilion de Trasignyes, and the Livre des faits de Jacques de Lalaing were all written by the same author.
