Edition Notes
The "Hit Parade" LP is part of Josh Kun's multi-modal project commissioned by the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art as part of Public Knowledge.
"Inspired by the musical archives of SFPL, Hit Parade examines contemporary issues of gentrification, eviction, and neighborhood change through an engagement with local music history."-- project website.
All live voices recorded Spring 2017 at the Western Addition, Bayview, and Mission branch libraries of the San Francisco Public Library.
The project has been made possible in part by a major grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities : Exploring the human endeavor. Additional support is provided by the California Arts Council, a state agency, and the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency.
