In a photo with jagged edges, three children pose next to the theater, Fontalba on the Gran Vía in Madrid. "Look for this. At the top." That image in white on black will serve as instrument for the narrator, almost octogenarian already, is reunited with the one who has always believed the love of their life. While waiting, try to shape your memories to do what yuo one day promised: write them. In this story opens the way to his childhood, united by the circumstances of two children of different origin in a besieged city, by the bombs, the hunger and the madness; that Madrid of 36. represents the ill-fated middle class of the Second Republic, in which the faith in progress and freedom was naturally intertwined with a rooted faith in the Catholic God. Isidro belongs to the upper class, in the republicina zone during the contest. And Ventura is an orphan, a free spirit who escapes from school fleeing the fate of the evacuation. The three understand and live the abandonment in different ways: the girl clings to the hope that, when the war is over, everything will return to be as before. Isidro, even knowing that he is wrong, persists in the hatred towards those who say they took their parents away. Ventura caresses the idea of having a family. Immersed in a melting pot of political ideas, they in front of day to day acting like children in a world for adults; without however, in the last game, they must proceed as such: they must lead to a plan that could change the course of history.
