A sort of 2nd rate 'Biggles' book intended for younger readers. The illustrations by S. Drigin show state-of-the-art aircraft in 1931, based on machines like the Hawker Fury fighter and the Supermarine S.5/S.6 series of Schneider Trophy winners which later morphed into the Spitfire of WW2. The author had been a fighter pilot in World War I flying a Bristol F.2b. and was credited with 28 victories with No.22 Squadron.
