ਅਖੀਰ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਵੇਲਾ ਆ ਗਿਆ। ਸ਼ਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਜਦੋਂ ਮੈ ਚੌਕੜੀ ਮਾਰ ਕੇ ਪੋਥੀ ਖੋਲਕੇ ਜਪੁਜੀ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਆਰੰਭ ਕੀਤਾ ਤਾਂ ਸ਼ੁਰੂਆਤ ਮੂਲ ਮੰਤਰ ਤੋ ਹੋਈ। ਸਹਿਜੇ ਸਹਿਜ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਉਚਾਰਨ ਲੱਗਾ। ਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਲਹਿ ਖਤਮ ਕਰਕੇ ਪੜਿਆ "ਜਪੁ"। ਸੁੰਨ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ, ਸਰੀਰ ਵਿਚ ਝੁਣਝੁਣੀ ਹੋਈ।

ਓਅੰ ਇੱਕ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਹੈ। ਜਪਣਾ "ਨਾਮ" ਹੈ। ਭਾਰਤੀ ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਹਰੀ ਨਾਮ ਜਾਂ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਵੀ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਪਰ ਓਅੰ ਨਾਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ ਸਗੋਂ ਉਸ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਮੌਖਿਕ ਚਿੰਨ੍ਹ (Oral Symbol)ਹੈ।
