Exhibition catalogue for the exhibition A Yellow Box in Qingpu: contemporary art and architecture in a Chinese Space at Xiao Ximen, Qingpu Town, Shanghai between 7 Sep - 7 Oct 2006.

The exhibition was the result of the 'Yellow Box' project, initiated by the Visual culture Research Centre of the China Academy of Arts, to investigate issues about contemporary art, creativity and culture of connoisseurship in response to the modern 'white cube'. The exhibition used the Xiao Ximen group of buildings in the Qingpu District of Shanghai as a experimental space for contemporary art to seek and discover hidden potentials for different artist media in a place of working and living.
