Volume 1 contains an extensive critical introduction in French, followed by the Latin text of the Life of Adam and Eve in two recensions (Latin-V and Latin-P), with parallel French translations. Volume 2 contains additional redactions of Latin-V, followed by a synopsis of the Latin versions with the Greek, Armenian, and Georgian versions (the Greek version is accompanied by a French translation; the Armenian and Georgian versions are presented in French translation only).
Includes bibliographical references (pages xi-xvi) and indexes.
Base text consists of the two Latin versions with accompanying French translation by Jean-Pierre Pettorelli and Jean-Daniel Kaestli. The Synopsis has half-title page in French: Synopse de la Vie d'Adam et Ève. It includes parallel texts arranged by Albert Frey: two Latin versions edited by Jean-Pierre Pettorelli, the Greek version with French translation (edited and translated by Jean-Daniel Kaestli), a French translation by Bernard Outtier of the Armenian version, and a French translation by Bernard Outtier of the Georgian version. Commentary in French.
